I finally made it to Idaho! One more state to check off the ole’ list. Just a few more to go, and I’ll have all 50 under my belt. The highlight of my brief junket into Idaho was seeing the Napoleon Dynamite house in Preston. It was at the end of this incredibly sketchy (scared I might go through a time warp and end up in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre kind of sketchy) dirt road. I stopped and snapped a quick pic and got out of there before the current residents had a chance to notice me and come storming out with a sawed off .22!! It was like that. Welcome to rural Idaho.
I’m in Utah this week, and wow is it spectacular! I feel like all I’ve managed to do since I’ve been here is walk and take pictures. I’m exhausted already and it’s only Wednesday. More to come.
Why did I not become a biologist?? Frozen Planet is on the Discovery Channel tonight, and dang, what was I thinking when I first started college. I’d be the best biologist/researcher/explorer/animal watcher ever. I’d rock your nature documentary world. As long as I didn’t get sent to Antarctica. I’d freeze to death along with the other weaklings.
I made an art!! I’m actually very pleased with how this picture turned out, despite not having many artistic bones in my body. A group of my girlfriends and I went to this quaint establishment called Painting With A Twist. It’s basically a guided 2 hour session with an in-house artist. They take you step by step through the sketching and painting process, and you leave with a lovely (at least in my case!) piece of art. I believe I’ll hang this one in the dining room.
